ARCHIDEX 2025 Arrives — Bigger, Bolder, and Breaking Boundaries

On July 23, the ARCHIDEX Malaysia International Architecture, Interior Design and Building Materials Exhibition officially opened. Over the past years, ARCHIDEX has consistently ranked as Southeast Asia’s leading comprehensive building and construction exhibition, serving as a key industry platform where architects, interior designers, contractors, developers, engineers, and government representatives gather to exchange ideas and advance collaboration.

The exhibition has demonstrated strong performance in previous editions. In 2023, ARCHIDEX attracted over 38,000 professional visitors and generated transaction volumes exceeding USD 23 million.

The 2025 edition covered a total exhibition area of 36,700 square meters and brought together nearly 850 exhibitors, welcoming an estimated 56,000 international buyers from more than 110 countries. Among the exhibition’s key highlights, the China–Malaysia Custom Home Furnishings Zone made its first appearance as an independent pavilion, serving as an important bridge for industrial collaboration between the custom home furnishing sectors of China and Malaysia.

Capturing Global Attention

China’s Custom Home Furnishings Industrial Cluster Makes Its International Debut

Malaysia has a well-established home furnishing industry foundation and a mature consumer market. Through in-depth exchange and cooperation, China and Malaysia were well-positioned to jointly cultivate a new custom home furnishings market in Malaysia.
Driven by the joint efforts of the Guangdong Custom Home Association, the China Guangzhou Custom Home Furnishings Exhibition & Light Luxury Custom Exhibition, and ARCHIDEX, the China–Malaysia Custom Home Furnishings Zone made a high-profile debut at the exhibition.

On the opening day, the China–Malaysia Custom Home Furnishings Zone emerged as a key international showcase for the custom home furnishings industry, successfully attracting the attention of global professional visitors. Designers, architectural firms, furniture manufacturers, material suppliers, home furnishing retailers, buyers, and traders from around the world expressed strong interest in the brands and products presented within the zone.

An Industry-Level Dialogue Between China and Malaysia

On July 24, during ARCHIDEX 2025, an industry-level forum on custom home furnishings between the two countries—Shaping the Future: The China–Malaysia International Forum on Custom Home Furnishings—was held.

Co-organized by the Malaysian Interior Industry Partners Association (MIIP) and the Guangdong Custom Home Association, the forum brought together industry associations, exhibition representatives, leading enterprises, and design professionals from both China and Malaysia.
Centered on the development of Malaysia’s custom home furnishings industry, discussions were conducted from multiple perspectives and across various fields. Participants shared insights on Malaysia’s real estate trends and home furnishing demand, explored the prospects for China–Malaysia industry collaboration, analyzed the development of Malaysia’s furniture industry supply chain, and examined strategies for aligning interior design and material sourcing—jointly advancing the localization and implementation of custom home furnishings in the Malaysian market.

Leveraging ARCHIDEX as an international platform, China’s custom home furnishings industrial cluster continued to demonstrate its innovation vitality and ecosystem strengths. From product showcases and technical exchange to business matchmaking and shared industry vision, the initiative helped build a global-facing window for custom home furnishings.
As the exchanges continue, further opportunities for mutually beneficial cooperation are expected to emerge.
